Whitewater Rafting near Bala, Snowdonia


Located near Bala, Snowdonia whitewater rafting is provided on the River Tryweryn.

We are a booking agent for Canolfan Tryweryn (The National Whitewater Centre) located just a few minutes drive from Bala. let us book your rafting sessions for you. The river Tryweryn has hosted the world championships for white-water canoeing (slalom, river-racing) and is considered to the best location for rafting in the UK. Water is released from a lake to ensure good conditions even in the summer months.

A rafting trip will be a memorable experience with rapids to negotiate in the hands of a qualified and experienced guide including the graveyard the ski-jump. The more adventurous can try an Orca session. You and a friend will paddle your own 2-man raft after instruction and with the guide in a kayak nearby.

Prices:

 

Raft sessions with a guide in the raft (min 4, max 7) lasting 2 hours, normally 4 runs:

  • Extravagance Midweek: £255/raft, including all equipment

  • Extravagance Weekend: £330/raft, including all equipment

  • Extravagance Weekend: £285/raft, including all equipment (early session, 0830 or 0900)

Orca (2-man raft) sessions for the adventurous with a guide nearby in a kayak:

  • Orca Adventure half-day: £77/person, minimum of 2, including all equipment

  • Orca Adventure full-day: £110/person, minimum of 4, including all equipment

These prices include all equipment, i.e. wetsuits, crash-hats, buoyancy aids

Canolfan Tryweryn has changing facilities and hot-showers.

No rafting on these dates for 2008: 15-16 March, 3-4 May, 18 October to 30 November.
